Odisha Association of Greater Sacramento - Our Story

Our Story and Mission

The Odisha Association of Greater Sacramento (ODIAS) established in 2024 and recognized by the IRS as a 501(c)(3) non-profit cultural, educational, and philanthropic organization in the state of California with an emphasis on sociocultural awareness in Greater Sacramento and surrounding areas.

This organization is formed by the Odia people, for the Odia People and of the Odia people. We engage Odia youths to stay connected to their roots and most importantly spread the essence of Odisha by celebrating regional festivals like Raja (Honor the Womanhood), Ratha Yatra (Chariot Festival of Lord Jagannath), and Kumar Purnima. We also partner with other local organizations for various philanthropic events to support our community.

Since its inception, the Odisha Association of Greater Sacramento (ODIAS) has been dedicated to preserving and promoting the rich cultural, linguistic, and social heritage of Odisha within our local community. As a registered non-profit organization, we strive to create a "home away from home" for Odia families while fostering a spirit of inclusion and service in the Greater Sacramento area.
